Top Gay Thailand Destinations

Jomtien Beach

Jomtien Complex ( Supertown ) which is situated just 3 Km south of Pattaya is arguably the largest gay Thailand area with over 30 gay bars and Restaurants.
There are also many local predominantly Gay Hotels where you can feel comfortable.
Unlike Pattaya Boystown there are no GoGo
bars and the scene is lower key with mainly bars with outside seating on a pedestrianised street.
There are also a few bars with live cabaret shows the largest of which is the Venue.
If you are travelling alone then there are some “Hosted” bars where you can have company from a local thai guy in exchange for buying him a drink ( a small tip of around $3 is usually expected)
All in all there are facilities to cater to all Gay tastes and needs in this area.

Silom Area Bangkok

This is the main Tourist Gay Thailand area in Bangkok. Situated all within a small area concentrated mainly around Silom Rd Soi 2 & 4 and Patpong Soi 2. ( One road down from soi 4).
There are also a couple of bars and massage shops down from Silom Soi 6.
Soi 4 has bars with seating on the street and a couple of GoGo bars.
Soi 2 is a street closed off with a gay club (DJ Station) and a few bars under the same management. This street has an entry fee to get in.
There is also another club in the street between soi 4 and soi 2 (G.O.D). The main GoGo bars are in Soi 2 Patpong at the Surawong end. They are expensive but have good live shows There are lots of hotels in the area and most are gay friendly

Pattaya

Boystown was previously the busiest Gay area in Thailand. Arguably this has been overtaken by Jomtien recently though.
It remains however the area where there are Gay GoGo bars in the region. It is located on Pattayaland Soi 1 and 2 off Pattaya Second road.
Also the previously busy area Sunee Plaza now only has a couple of GoGo bars and a couple of gay bars. Although it’s worth noting that the prices here are quite a lot cheaper than boystown. There are also a few gay friendly hotels right in boystown and also a good cabaret show bar.

Paradise Complex, Patong, Phuket

The Main Gay Thailand Tourist area in Phuket is in a complex around the big Royal Paradise Hotel in Patong Beach. This used to be very busy with many Bars.
Currently there is one main Club ZAGs bar which has has live cabaret nightly and a few other bars in the main Soi. In the next soi along there are a lot of Gay massage shops.
There are quite a lot of reasonably priced Gay friendly hotels and guest houses in the area and its still a great place to visit. There are great beaches and there is a lot of action on the Gay Mobile Apps.

Koh Samui

This has a lot quieter but active gay scene centred around a gay friendly bar/club the Green Mango.T here is also a gay beach bar on Big Buddha Beach The Secret Garden. There is an excellent exclusively gay resort the Alpha Gay Resort.

Chiang Mai

Unfortunately hard hit by Covid. This still has a small friendly gay scene based around a few gay bars in Chiang Mai’s famous Night Market area and on Charoenprathet Alley 6. There is also a gay cabaret GoGo bar on Wiengbua Rd the Adams Apple Club North of here.
